Across these projects, I ask how maternal experience can become a source of ecological knowledge, belonging, and repair. My approach moves between diagnosis and application: naming what mothers are carrying, and building paths through it that clinicians, scholars in neighboring fields like climate psychology, and mothers themselves can use.
An interdisciplinary framework for understanding how motherhood transforms ecological identity, belonging, attachment, grief, and care.
Research naming the anxiety, grief, and moral injury mothers experience in response to ecological deterioration and concern for their children’s futures.
The developmental process through which becoming a mother may deepen embodied belonging to the living world and reshape ecological identity across generations.
The study of how story, ecological relationship, and expressive practice can help mothers restory climate distress and move toward ecological awakening.
The recovery of feminist, womanist, Indigenous, and material-feminist traditions whose contributions to ecopsychology have often been marginalized.
An emerging inquiry into the intergenerational rupture between women, Earth, and the sacred, and the conditions through which that rupture may be interrupted.
Climate change is reshaping maternal mental health, identity, and care—and much of that story remains untold. This research-informed media toolkit gives journalists, science communicators, and producers the evidence, language, sources, and story pathways needed to cover maternal ecodistress accurately. The toolkit includes a press briefing, terminology guide, story hooks, expert sources, and the video explainer.
